Thank you for your email of 15 October to the Department of Health about the treatment of cancer.

I should explain that it is for healthcare professionals to decide on the most appropriate treatments for their patients, and it is for local NHS organisations to decide what treatments they will fund. The Department does not investigate new treatments.
